Week 45- Huanta, Ayacucho, Peru: God Sustains Us After We Do ALL That is Possible (PICTURES!)

Tell every one that I'm still healthy just a little skinnier haha

This week was fun; we did service in a member's backyard and I looked down at my arm and saw little droplets of blood. Apparently there are little fruit flies here that bite, haha (p.s. that didn't make me sick either)

The ward had a baptism, a little girl named Megan. It was a great night; the room was filled again as she made her first covenant. Among the congregation was Fernando (the recent convert) and a couple others whose baptismal dates are in limbo.

This week was very long because my companion and I worked our butts off. We managed to have 17 lessons with members present and 14 lessons with recent converts and less actives. Every day I learn more that God sustains us after we do ALL that is possible.

Week 44- Huanta, Ayacucho, Peru: Fernando's Baptism (and PICTURES!)

Hey some just some quick details,

I have lost 7 kg (15 lbs) so far so please keep that in mind if you send me clothes haha aka I'm not a 16.5 collar anymore, but 15.5.

My companion and I had to go to Lima this last week for his immigration work and it was fun because we had two 11 hour bus rides and we got to leave with the assistants to the president and proselyte.

This last week we had another baptism! Fernando Quispe has been quite the miracle as he has been able to abstain from alcohol for more than three weeks now. That is an accomplishment for someone with a 50 year long addiction who couldn't sleep before unless he drank medical alcohol before bed. Many of the members asked us about him yesterday saying, "wasn't he the drunk guy?" Yes. He was the drunk guy, but he has acted with his faith unto repentence and allowed the atonement of Christ to change his entire character. He bore powerful testimony after his baptism, saying, "I have thought about it, and I have decided. I thank the Lord for sending me the brother missionaries to my house."

Let the gospel change you!

Week 43- Huanta, Ayacucho, Peru: 10 Months (and PICTURES!)

Hello!

I turned 10 (months) today! Time really does fly so enjoy every moment!

Last week my companion and I went to Cristo Blanco in Huanta with our whole zone. It's a giant white statue that overlooks all of Huanta and I can see it from just about every part of the small city. After that all 16 of us hiked in tracting clothes for about an hour and saw some waterfalls! Huanta really is awesome.

We are hoping to have a baptism this week! Fernando Quispe has really been a miracle. He went from drinking everyday to abstaining from alcohol for 3 weeks now. I promise all of you who are looking for change in your lives right now that you will accomplish that dream through Christ and using His atoning blood to break the chains that hold you down.

Something that my companion said is that the adversary loves the phrase "I'll start tomorrow." I know through experience that if you want to accomplish something that you will not be reach those goals by procrastinating. Choose now to do something great!

I love and miss you all!

Week 42- Huanta, Ayacucho, Peru: Really Quick

We got a super short message from Jeff this week, but at least we know he is doing well!

Hey so time has beat me again and I don't have time to write much, but I am doing well and we are working hard to see if we can have 4 baptisms this month. I love you and I'll write you first next week!
